Hannah'ism

I asked her why she had her backpack on 20 mins before we had to leave for school. Her reply was "Well, you never know when you have to go to school!"

On Friday we surprised the kids by taking them camping. Here is Hannah and Hubby working on my gigantic matress. It allows me to spend the time in the mountains that is so important to me.
We had a lot of fun.

Crap!

I started a pair of socks called Meida's Socks found in "Favorite Socks" published by Interweave. I actually had a fair amount completed when I decided to try them on! I got the gauge wrong! Poop! So I ripped it out and have restarted with needles 2 sizes to big. Maybe I should probably join the KAL. I think I may need a little support! I'll post a pic when I have some of the sock completed again.

Hot off the needles!

Just off the needles! I knit these with two circular needles. A good pair of just plain socks with 2x2 ribing. They are a bit darker then they look in this photo. I call them my Grape Ape Socks.

Its been a while since i have posted.. My Doctor has changed some of my medication to help with my sleeping. It seems to be working great! My mind is not as ellusive as it has been but I have taken a while to get used to the change.

I'm not alright

Here is a photo that I took over my back deck into the creek after the rainstorm on either June 4th or the 5th, I can't recall. I changed the contrast so you could see the detail in the photo better. The water is unusually swift due to all the rain. Isn't it beautiful? We keep the windows cracked open so that we can here the sound of the water rushing and the wildlife (mostly birds). The weather has been really hard on me. In fact I feel rather like a ghost. I feel like I am haunting this home and my family. Like I'm here, but not really. The pain is insufferable. But I have this trick of disconnecting when I can't go any further. I'm so glad my husband and family are so very patient with me. My father in law is absolutely wonderful! For my birthday he gave me an iced coffee kit and a gift card from Starbucks. Dad knows how much I love coffee. What a thoughtful gift. Well I think I will go and haunt my bedroom for a while... If I'm lucky I might have enough brain power to pick up my knitting!!

I'm not okay

Another day spent in bed. I have been very adamant about trying to stay awake though. Absolutely no napping. Other wise I won't be able to sleep tonight! Those of you with FMS will no why that is so important. My Husband and two brother in laws and good friend are finishing up the irrigation system on our property. We are going to put some drought resistant grass in the parking strip, and xerascape the rest of the grounds using indigenous plants. We are trying to be as gentile to the planet as possible. Now when people look at our home they will believe that someone actually lives here! It will be so nice to actually be able to enjoy our garden. Anyway, I have taken all of the medication that I can. But I still am in such pain. If only I had my own private masseuse.

I'm Not Alright

Today started out a good one. My hunny and I woke up earlier then our kids which is a very rare occurrence. He brought me some freshly pressed coffee in bed! What a nice man! From here on out, things go bad. After having been awake for about 1.5 hours my mind startted to get foggy. Thats when I know I need to start preparing for a long, miserable, day in bed. I am so tired of spending time like this! My kids are home from school for a long Memorial Day weekend. My husband has taken the day off and my brother in law is here to help design and install our irrigation system. And now my FMS has, yet again, dealt me out of the equation. So here I am, in and out of sleep all day. It's already almost 5:30 pm. I really am tyring to get used to this FMS. But so far I only seem to feel either angry, sad or despondent. Oh well. Shall I just chalk it up to experience? Anyway the guys have been working really hard in the yard. You should see them working with that "ditch witch". That thing is bigger then the two of them put together! There... now I'm smiling!
